IMPACT OF ONLINE TRAINING SESSIONS ON EDUCATION FRATERNITY

Abstract

Training is teaching, or developing in oneself or others, skills and knowledge or fitness that relate to specific useful competencies. Training has specific goals of improving one's capability, capacity, productivity and performance. The training programs enhance the intellect and the ability to make rational decisions of the teachers. These sessions facilitate the professional growth of the teaching fraternity.

Method-

The plan of action was made for thirteen weeks. Initially observations were done in few classes and report for the same was prepared by me. Later on, teachers were instructed to attend training sessions through various platforms such as CBSE Online Training portal, Diksha app, Microsoft Edu training, Edu lead International, etc. Peer learning was encouraged where in the staff members guided each other on various parameters. Teachers were asked to implement the learning in their respective classrooms. After few weeks, re-observation was done by me and to my surprise significant improvement was evident. Meanwhile, feedback from students was taken and metacognition sheets were worked upon.

Result-

  • Teachers have now started focusing on usage of HOTS and MOTS while writing their ELO’s.
  • The result of the students have changed for the better, though few have shown improvement in terms of behavior and engagement.
  • Peer learning among the teachers as well as students have shown great impact on the teaching methodology and academic well being of both.
  • After attending the trainings, teachers have largely been able to overcome the challenges faced by them.
  • Performance and Engagement of the students in the classroom have shown steep rise viz-a-viz academic and behavioural issues.

Conclusion-

The performance of the students has risen to the high levels of proficiency and they have started taking keen interest in their respective classrooms. The interaction of the students is quite evident in the classroom which is reflected from the increased strength present in the classroom. The teachers have even started integrating the differentiated instructions while taking up the lessons which in turn have impacted the learnings and interest of Low and Middle achievers. Teachers have even started using the Active Learning strategies in the classrooms. Teachers are now able to cater to the needs of all the levels of the Learners by integrating differentiated instructions. I realized that it’s really very important to train the teachers as it helps them in all walks of life.
