THE BEGINNING OF FLUTE EDUCATION FOR 9-12 YEARS OLD PUPILS

Abstract

Flute is an instrument that has been requested even as amateur by the relevant people of all ages in the society, beside the ones in Music Teaching programs of universities as well as West Music Conservatories. In this study, elementary grade of flute training for 9-12 years old children that requested to have this training was discussed with their developmental properties to be considered. In this respect, the study has a quality of recommendation. The study had descriptive and qualitative properties, and literature review method was used. In the study, developmental properties of children at 9-12 age group, measurement of students’ musical talent, measurement of students’ compliance to flute, the first studies in flute, producing tone from the headjoint, breathing exercises, position, holding and functioning of the fingers when body and footjoint of the flute were combined were all discussed. In accordance with these issues, some reminding and suggestions were offered for the children at 9-12 age group.
