SOFT SKILLS AS THE FOUDATION OF GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP

Abstract

Soft skills, such as communication, empathy, adaptability, and teamwork, are essential for promoting global citizenship as they facilitate effective interaction across varied cultures and circumstances. These talents assist individuals in navigating the intricacies of global interconnectedness, fostering mutual understanding and respect. By enhancing competencies such as cultural sensitivity and collaborative problem-solving, soft skills enable individuals to interact more successfully in global networks, contribute to international discourse, and partake in solutions for global concerns. They are fundamental in constructing bridges across cultural boundaries, thereby improving global collaboration and promoting a more inclusive and sustainable society.

Soft skills play a crucial role in bridging cultural divides and fostering international collaboration, as these interpersonal competenciessuch as empathy, communication, and adaptabilityenable individuals to comprehend and engage with people from varied cultural backgrounds. Soft skills empower individuals to engage in cross-cultural encounters with sensitivity and understanding, enhancing communication, minimising disputes, and fostering trust. Enhancing our perception and response to diverse cultural norms and expectations, soft skills augment our capacity for international collaboration, resulting in more productive and harmonious worldwide partnerships and problem-solving initiatives.
