SIDBI CLUSTER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME AND RAJASTHAN'S MSME EXPORT SECTOR: A CASE STUDY

Abstract

This study analyzes the role and impact of SIDBI's Cluster Development Program (CDP) on Rajasthan's MSME export sector. The research found that cluster-based development significantly enhances production capacity, quality standards, technological advancement, and market competitiveness. Specifically, in MSME clusters related to textiles, handicrafts, engineering, and agro-processing, SIDBI's financial support, capacity building, skill upgrading, and market linkages have strengthened export potential. Using case studies, the examples of the Jaipur Gems and Jewelry Cluster and the Bhilwara Textile Cluster illustrate that the CDP has made MSMEs more competitive in line with global demand. In conclusion, the SIDBI Cluster Development Program has proven to be a significant catalyst for Rajasthan's MSME export sector, contributing to the state's economic progress.
