OUTCOME OF PERONEAL ARTERY FLAP IN ACUTE TENDOACHILLES INJURY AS COMPARED WITH SURAL ISLAND FLAP

Dr. Soumya Gayen, Dr. Jayanta Kumar Rout, Dr. Amrita Mukherjee

Abstract

Tendoachilles injury is a major complication affecting day to day life and this injury is more common in younger age group and most often is caused by Indian type of lavatory injury in the subcontinent. But unfortunately large meta-analytical analyses of these epidemiological facts are lacking and will be a demand of future. The treatment of such an acute condition demands innovation. Practice of using flaps to treat these modes of injuries is an important mode of treatment. Plastic surgeon nowadays must think about the donor site outcome both functional and aesthetic which is much better in case of perforator flap than tibial flap and give early treatment for the expectation of Hypertrophic scar particularly in our country were evaluated in the present study.
