OF BRUTALITY AND SHREWDNESS
DIBAKAR PAL
Abstract
A dull-headed person has less power of reasoning. Similarly, a brute also lacks to reason. But he is not dull. In fact, lack in judgment and clarity of thought are liable to convert him into cruel, savage and uncivilized in nature. So his activities are infested and pregnant with callous deeds. Thus all brute is dull-headed but all dull-headed may not be brute. In fact, body of brute is more active than brain. That’s why he is brute. Stupidity and unconsciousness rendered him inanimate. As such, he has to use physical strength along with brutality in every sphere of life. On the other hand a shrewd person has insight. His brain is active more than his body. But sometimes a shrewd person is seen to be equally active both in body and mind. In that case his objectives are easily fulfilled. He is sharp-witted. He has sagacious looking. He is very cunning. Through shrewd observation he can make judicious decision.
