UNVEILING THE LATENT POWER OF THE MIND: A COMPREHENSIVE EXPLORATION OF SWAMI VIVEKANANDA’S PHILOSOPHICAL INSIGHTS

Dr. Reena Parti

Abstract

The paper, “Unveiling the Latent Power of the Mind: A Comprehensive Exploration of Swami Vivekananda’s Philosophical Insights”, aims to bring out Swami Vivekananda’s ideas on the importance of thought generation. Each and every thought is powerful. Thoughts make or mar one’s destiny. Thought is food for mind and every conscientious effort by the parent and educational institutions especially at school level should be directed towards teaching the importance of generation of thought and its management in life. The paper aims to dwell upon Swami Vivekananda’s ideas on the importance of thought generation and thought management and how it should form the focus of every human-being, for human mind is an integral part of universal consciousness interconnected with others. So, the true purpose of education whether at institution level or at home should be to develop beings as a grander part of the universe, for the profound concept of the universality and the vast potential of the human mind. Focus should be towards instilling positive, powerful yet caring thoughts rather than failing and paralyzing ones into the brains of the youth of the nation with its emphasis from the very childhood. For development of society free from the burden of crime and disease that jeopardizes both the physical and the psychological well-being of individuals, the paper aims to bring out that the focus of education should not be on collection of facts. The true purpose should be of teaching individuals the importance of developing the power of concentration of mind, the habit of mindfulness through consistent practice.
