MENTAL HEALTH STATUS OF TRIBAL ORPHAN CHILDREN IN ORPHANAGES OF DAKSHIN DINAJPUR DISTRICT.

Abstract
In this century one issue that makes us trouble worldwide is mental health. Beside our physical health, we should take care of our mental health to live a stable life in every aspect. In Indian Civilization we were very much concern in this issue from the beginning. Though mental health issues would be possible to recover to an ordinary man with some efforts but what about the orphan of backward ST category. This study is to find the mental health status of tribal orphan children in orphanages of Dakshin Dinajpur district. The study is quantitative in nature. Descriptive Survey Method has been used. Stratified random sampling procedure is used for selecting the sample. Researcher used a questionnaire for assessing mental health of orphan children following A.K. Singh and A. Sen gupta Mental Health Battery 2005 and 2013. The study has been found that there are several mental health issues among orphan children which effect severely to survive in this adverse scenario.
