INDIA'S STRATEGY ON SUSTAINABLE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT: OPPORTUNITIES, CHALLENGES AND FUTURE DIRECTION (WITH NATIONAL PERSPECTIVE AND UTTAR PRADESH CONTEXT)

Abstract

Sustainable economic growth is not just about rapid economic growth, but growth that is balanced with social inclusion and environmental protection to ensure long-term human well-being. India adopted the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a national priority after 2015 and implemented several policy and programme initiatives — including renewable energy, rural livelihoods (NRLM), Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and programs of Financial Inclusion. This paper presents an integrated analysis of these policies, discusses opportunities and challenges, and suggests local impact and policy reforms in the context of Uttar Pradesh and Farrukhabad. The article uses official statistics and district-level sources of the government.
