DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION STRATEGIES AND ORGANIZATIONAL RESILIENCE IN POST-PANDEMIC BUSINESS ENVIRONMENTS

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic upended how organizations think about digital transformation, accelerating in a few months what might have taken a decade or more otherwise. This review discusses how strategic digital transformation intersects with organizational resilience in post-pandemic business contexts using modern multi-sector research. We analyze eighteen scholarly works to see the ways in which businesses have been adapting their operational frameworks, models of customer engagement, and strategic management approaches in response to unprecedented disruption. Our results show that successful digital transformation far exceeds the limits of technology adoption; rather, it involves fundamental structural revisions in organizational culture, strategic planning, and stakeholder management. Those organizations with higher levels of resilience generally embedded digital tools with pre-existing competencies without displacing traditional competencies across the board. Sectoral differences are also reflected in the varied journeys toward transformation for tourism, retail, and service industries because of sector-specific challenges. These dynamics are important to comprehend for business leaders within an increasingly volatile economic environment in which digital readiness and organizational agility act as primary competitive advantages.
