DR. S.K. SUDHA
Abstract
The aim of the study is to analyze the current scenario of Arts and Science college students in Dindigul district who are engaged in part-time work and how they manage their work–life balance. Many students take up part-time work before or after college hours, mainly due to financial needs and personal issues. The study focused on two aspects: the reasons for part-time work and how students balance academics with work life. By adopting convenient sampling, respondents were randomly selected from Arts and Science colleges in Dindigul. The study used Frequency Analysis, ANOVA, and Exploratory Factor Analysis. The findings revealed a significant relationship between negative relations and personal support for work–life balance among second- and third-year students. The majority of part-time student workers reported that their monthly income is primarily used to support their families. Despite facing a lack of institutional and workplace support, many students still manage to balance their commitments. The study suggests that part-time student workers need more personal care and understanding from their families, teachers, and employers.
