DR. AJAY KUMAR GARG

Abstract

This research paper explores the financial performance of three prominent brands in the confectionery industry in India from 2001 to 2015: Haldirams, Bikanerwala, and Bombay Sweets. The study aims to analyze and compare key financial metrics including revenue trends, profitability indicators, capital structure, and efficiency ratios to provide insights into their growth trajectories and competitive dynamics over the specified period. Financial performance for a business encompasses key metrics that assess its fiscal health and operational efficiency. These include profitability indicators like gross profit margin and net profit margin, which reveal profitability relative to sales. Liquidity ratios such as current ratio and quick ratio measure the company's ability to meet short-term obligations. Efficiency ratios like inventory turnover and days sales outstanding assess how effectively assets are managed. Additionally, financial leverage ratios like debt-to-equity ratio indicate the company's reliance on debt financing. Together, these indicators provide a comprehensive view of a business's financial strength, operational effectiveness, and sustainability.
